Walter Wong serves as music director at the Hong Kong iMusic Academy. He is a composer, live performer and music scoring arranger for the Academy's Quartet, Chamber Music Ensemble and Junior Symphony Orchestra.He has published more than 40 compositions across a wide range of musical genres, including notable works in musical theatre which have captivated local audiences. Walter is also the primary songwriter for the Hong Kong iMusic Junior Orchestra while also carrying out film scoring for various corporate clients. He has worked with local organisations like the Vocational Training Council (VTC), Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB) and Theatre Spaces (TS). In addition, Walter is a member of the Hong Kong Festival Orchestra and music director at Hong Kong iMusic Academy, where he regularly improvises, arranges, and produces numerous distinguished piano duo and other music videos for the Academy. Born with a unique 'play-by-ear' talent, Walter began his music journey at an early age, studying under renowned Chinese pianist Liu Shikun. Later, he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in music from the Education University of Hong Kong. He also displayed his protean talents by obtaining the Associateship diplomas from Trinity College London (ATCL) in piano recital and music theory while also earning Grade 8 certificates in clarinet and alto saxophone from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. Walter is highly experienced in music education and has successfully taught numerous students the 'play-by-ear' pop and classical piano method, aspecial learning programme created by the Hong Kong iMusic Piano department to stimulate learners' interest in and passion for music.
