Maisy Lam

Lam Shuk Man, Maisy, started learning trumpet with Mr. Keung Fun Hou at the young age in the Music Office (LCSD). Later she studied trumpet with Mr. Chris Moyse, Mr. Jacobus Chong, Mr. Kelvin Ngai, etc. She also took the conducting course in the Master Degree and learnt conducting with the famous American Conducting Maestro Dr. Dale Lonis.

In 2013, Maisy achieved the Master of Arts in Music Education from the Hong Kong Education University, the LTCL diploma of trumpet performance and the AMusTCL diploma of music theory from the Trinity College London. In 2018, She achieved the LRSM diploma of trumpet performance from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. In addition, Maisy has completed ABRSM grade 8 exam on french horn, trombone, euphonium, flute, and ATCL on piano. 

She is enthusiastic on performing, involved in various music organizations, including the Hong Kong Festival Orchestra, Hong Kong Performers Winds, Hong Kong Chamber Orchestra, etc. She has exchanged with these organizations in Guangzhou, Beijing, Britain, Japan, etc. She was involved in the band competitions with O-Wind Symphonic Band, which won the champions in Taiwan (2016) and Shenzhen (2019) respectively. In 2014, she had held a public recital and gave a solo Concerto performance invited by the Ordinary Chamber Orchestra. She performed in the masterclasses held by the Swiss trumpet artist, Mr. Giuliano Sommerhalder and the American trumpet artists, Mr. Brian Shaw, Mr. Adam Rapa, etc.

She is currently working as an instrumental teacher and band/orchestra conductor respectively in CCC Kei Wan Primary School (Aldrich Bay), Kowloon Rhenish School, Tung Koon School (Sheung Shui), etc., training and leading the students/teams to perform inside and outside campus and to join the public competitions. Maisy has also carried out research into brass pedagogy during her studies along with serving as a life coach.  She offers expert guidance and training a well in areas such as posture relaxation, breathing and rhythm mastery, which are extremely beneficial to her students’ overall development.
