Jason Fung

Jason Fung started his musical journey at four when he began learning violin with the APA junior music programme. After graduating from Ying Wa College, where he was Concert Master of the school Orchestra, Jason pursued further studies in music. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree at the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts under Professor Michael Ma's tutelage. He is currently a visiting student there.

 

Jason has had many opportunities to perform locally and internationally. He was Concert Master for both the 2019 Kent Blossom Music Festival Orchestra and HKAPA's orchestra as well as having participated in the Dali Quartet International Festival in 2017, the 1st Chamber Music Festival by Shanghai Conservatory Of Music and 1st Prize Winner of Hong Kong Bauhinia Cup String Competition String Duet Open Group In 2017. 

 

He also benefited from masterclasses from renowned artists like ShangHai Quartet, Dr David Leung - Director McPhail’s Camerata Orchestra, Dr Mark Scatterbay,Professor Ivan Chan, Mr Peter Otto & Mr Wang Jing etc. Jason has also earned multiple scholarships during his career, such as The Dr Leung Ngan Chiu Prize For Contribution To College Orchestra, Mr & Mrs YS Liu Scholarships and Wong Wai Ming Memorial Scholarships.
